Gunsmith Service Manager — Salt Lake City, UT

Purpose of Position:

The Gunsmith Service Manager will be responsible for overall location management of the Gunsmith Center, enhancing the customer experience, meeting sales and profitability goals and managing staff effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

– Develop business strategies to raise our customer pool, expand gunsmith traffic and optimize profitability. Propose innovative ideas to increase market share in the business
– Meet sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring and providing feedback to Gunsmith Center staff
– Ensure Gunsmithing Center is delivering products and services that meet or exceed the company’s quality and time metrics
– Review incoming firearms, assign work orders, order parts and tooling to complete jobs
– Site administration and compliance with policies and procedures, including safety
– Maintain and review inventory, labor, department and store sales reports as directed by management
– Oversee inventory, including audit and pricing standards, including operations price list
– Review and sign off on A&D records, with applicable paperwork and keep store compliant with all ATF regulations
– Oversee opening and closing procedures per company standards
– Manage store events, hours, and social media postings
– Supervise merchandising of entire store while maintaining company standards. Ensure that the entire store is clean, faced, and straight at all times
– Work closely with supervisor to recognize gunsmithing trends and customer needs
– Enter and maintain schedules in time and attendance system and conduct payroll functions following company guidelines
– Assist in development of Gunsmithing Center improvements including innovation, quality control and cost efficiencies
– Ensure competitive and profitable pricing by recommending pricing adjustments for Gunsmithing services to Director of Firearms Services
– Train, coach and develop the Gunsmiths in their daily duties including; coaching and management to assess training needs and build career paths Address all issues that arise from staff or customers (complaints, grievances etc.)
– All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

– Proven successful experience as a Retail and Gunsmithing Service Manager
– Strong organizational skills
– Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
– Powerful leadership skills and business orientation
– Customer management skills

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
A minimum of 5 years of experience in Retail Management required, preferably in the firearms industry
Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position manages Gunsmithing and Customer Service associates.

Travel Requirements:

This position may require some travel.
